On August 21, 2024, the Faculty of Technical Education (FTE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) formalized a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic collaboration with CPL Group Public Company Limited. The MOU was signed by Associate Professor Dr. Pairote Stirayakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Education, and Mr. Suwatchai Wongjaroensin, Chairman of CPL Group Public Company Limited. The signing ceremony was also attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Suchanya Posayanant, Associate Dean for International Affairs and Organizational Communication at the Faculty of Technical Education, and Associate Professor Dr. Sakda Katawaethwarag, Head of the Department of Teacher Training in Civil Engineering.
This MOU establishes a framework for collaboration between the two organizations across various engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. Specific initiatives include the development of advanced technical capabilities, the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, and the enhancement of skills relevant to both academia and industry. The partnership will also emphasize promoting professional engineering development through cooperative education programs, integrated learning initiatives, and expanded research and internship opportunities. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application, ensuring that students and professionals in these engineering fields benefit from the latest advancements, best practices, and hands-on experience.
As part of this collaboration, the Department of Teacher Training in Civil Engineering at FTE has partnered with CPL Group to advance research and development in materials designed to prevent soil erosion and land collapse. This partnership not only strengthens the department’s research capabilities but also provides students with valuable internship opportunities in real-world environments, helping them develop the skills necessary to tackle future industry challenges. Through this joint effort, FTE and CPL Group are committed to promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering practices.
