Associate Professor Dr.Bandit Suksawat, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, and
Assistant Professor Dr.Chichaya Boonmee, a lecturer from the Department of Civil Engineering,
Faculty of Technical Education (FTE), represented King Mongkut’s University of Technology
North Bangkok (KMUTNB) at a meeting concerning the establishment of the Cambodian-Thai
Skills Development Institute. The meeting was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from August 19-
20, 2024. The Thai delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, the Thai Ambassador to
Phnom Penh, and included Mr.Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of the Thailand
International Cooperation Agency (TICA), who paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Heng Sour,
Cambodian Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational
Training of Cambodia.
Following this, The 4 th Project Coordinating Committee meeting on the establishment of
Cambodia-Thai Skills Development Center Project in Phnom Penh, chaired by Mr. Wattanawit
Gajaseni on behalf of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Dr. Hing Sideth, Director General of the
Directorate General of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DGTVET), representing
the Kingdom of Cambodia. KMUTNB has been assigned to oversee two key projects: 1) the
development of curricula for vocational certificate, diploma, and bachelor’s levels, and 2) the
construction of a four-story academic building with a rooftop.
The delegation also visited and reviewed the operations of the Cambodian-Thai Skills
Development Institute (CTSDI) to gather information for planning curriculum development to
meet educational standards and to ensure the construction of the academic building adheres
to the designed plans prepared by the Department of Teacher Training in Civil Engineering, FTE,
KMUTNB.
