Thailand, represented by the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT), proudly joined the Asian Welding Federation (AWF) in 2023, aligning with nations like Japan, China, Korea, and more. This significant membership signifies a strong commitment from the Faculty of Technical Education and the Welding Institute of Thailand to advancing welding standards across Asia through biannual meetings and collaborative efforts with leading professional organizations.

Highlighting Our Leadership

Assistant Professor Dr. Panarit Sethakul, Advisor to the Dean for Academic and International Affairs at the Faculty of Technical Education and Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Welding Institute of Thailand, represented the Welding Institute of Thailand at the annual general meeting of the Asian Welding Federation, “The 40th AWF Governing Council & Task Force’s Meeting,” held at INTEX Osaka, Japan, from April 23 to 28, 2024. On April 24, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Panarit Sethakul presented a paper titled “The implementation of the Integrated Program for the Master of Engineering in Welding Engineering Technology, KMUTNB complies with the International Welding Engineer (IWE), IIW responding to the needs of Thai Industry” at the 15th Asian Welding Technology & Its Application Forum 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Welding technology is vital for global industrial clusters, and the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT) has been at the forefront since 2004. Recognized by the International Institute of Welding (IIW) as an Authorized Nominated Body (ANB) in Thailand, WIT offers a comprehensive range of internationally accredited courses. Our seven accredited training centers provide rigorous examinations and diplomas for professional welders (IW), international welding engineers (IWE), and international welding inspectors (IWIP). We also offer specialized courses like International Welding Structure Designer (IWSD), International Industrial Inspector (III), and Engineers for 3D Printing or Metal Forming (AD), ensuring our graduates are equipped with globally recognized qualifications.

Recently, the Welding Institute of Thailand became a member of the Asian Welding Federation (AWF) to foster collaboration, elevate welding standards, and develop welding professionals in the Asian industrial sector to meet international standards.
