Exciting Collaboration: FTE KMUTNB and MIYAGAWA KOKI co., ltd. (Japan) Prepares Students for Global Careers through Cooperative Education Program in Japan

On June 24, 2024, faculty members from the Department of Teacher Training in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Technical Education (FTE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Katawaethwarag, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Suchanya Posayanant, Associate Dean for International Affairs and Organizational Communication, made a significant visit to MIYAGAWA KOKI Co., Ltd. (Japan) at their Thailand office. Miyagawa has MoU with FTE KMUTNB. This visit was part of an initiative to provide hands-on guidance and support to our cooperative education students.

The purpose of this visit was to assess the student’s progress and offer valuable advice to enhance their skills and prepare them for their upcoming assignment at the company’s headquarters in Japan. This opportunity provides students with a unique and prestigious chance to gain international professional experience and advance their expertise in civil engineering.

During this visit, the faculty was honored to meet Mr. Yoshitaka Miyagawa, President of MIYAGAWA KOKI co., ltd. Mr. Miyagawa expressed his pleasure in having the students intern at his company and discussed ways to further develop their skills in various areas. They explored potential avenues for further collaboration between the university and the company, including research initiatives, joint projects, and expanded student internship opportunities.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Suchanya Posayanant and Mr. Yoshitaka Miyagawa discussed future collaborations between the university and the company, further emphasizing the faculty’s commitment to providing students with diverse learning experiences.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Katawaethwarag remarked, “Cooperative education is a transformative experience that allows our students to bring theoretical knowledge into real-world application.
