On October 29, 2025, the Faculty of Technical Education (FTE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), in collaboration with the International Cooperation Center, organized a meeting of the IGIP Accredited Training Center National Section of Thailand Committee Meeting at the Faculty of Technical Education.
The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somsak Akatimagool, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Education. Asst. Prof. Dr. Panarit Sethakul served as Advisor to the Dean, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Krich Sinthanakul and Asst. Prof. Dr. Siam Kaemkhuntod served as Committee Members. Ms. Phimwalun Musikpan acted as Committee Member and Secretary, and Mr. Parit Panitkan as Committee Member and Assistant Secretary.
The committee was honored to welcome Professor Dr. paed.-habil. Hanno Hortsch from Dresden University of Technology (TUD), Federal Republic of Germany, and former President of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP), who attended as an Honorary Advisor. The meeting focused on setting the direction for the operation of the IGIP Accredited Training Center, which offers the International Engineering Educator Program. Graduates of this program are entitled to use the professional designation “ING.PAED.IGIP” before their names. This initiative aims to promote and support the development and enhancement of educational personnel in Thailand to meet international standards.
The International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) is an organization recognized by UNESCO, working in collaboration with countries across the ASEAN region. At present, the IGIP National Sections of Thailand at KMUTNB is the only accredited institution in ASEAN authorized to conduct this training program.
